On June 26, 2019, the first 36 nominees of the National award in the field of import substitution and technology transfer "Priority-2019" were named. The company " Optic fiber Systems " has passed the first stage of selection and will continue to fight for victory in two categories: "IT" and "Perspective".

The national award "Priority" is the first and the only prize in the field of import substitution and technology transfer. The objective of the competition is to promote the active development of import substitution in Russia, increase the authority of national producers and increase the demand for domestic products and technologies.

"Optic fiber Systems" JSC, as one of the large-scale projects in the field of import substitution, which was supported at the highest state level, became the foundation for the development of the optical fiber industry in Russia and is the first and the only plant in Russia that produces optical fiber.

In 2015, at a working meeting in the Kremlin, the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, V. D. Volkov, presented V.V. Putin a coil with the first domestic optical fiber. At the meeting, the President noted the importance of this project as an important step in the formation and development of a new high-tech industry.

Not so long ago, "Optic fiber Systems" JSC completed the implementation of crucial project destined to increase the production capacity of the plant up to 4 million km per year. Taking into account the new capacity, the Company is ready to meet more than 50% of the optical fiber demand of domestic cable plants.

Production of "Optic fiber Systems" JSC equals quality to foreign analogs and is the only fiber certified in Russia.

At the second stage of the competition "Priority-2019" the organizing Committee will present the materials of the Nominees to the Expert Council for the final decision on the award winners in each category.

“Optic fiber Systems” JSC (www.rusfiber.ru) – is the first and the only Russian plant manufacturing optical fiber. The plant is situated in Saransk, Mordovia Republic. It was officially opened on 25 September   2015. The shareholders of the company are RUSNANO, Gazprombank and the Government of Mordovia Republic.

Optical fiber is the main component of optic cables for signal transmission in modern communication networks. Fiber is also used as a sensor for monitoring deformation, temperature, acoustics and other indicators.

"Optic fiber Systems" JSC produces telecommunication optical fibers of standards G652 and G 657 A1 including those with reduced diameter of 200 microns; provides services on optical fiber coloring and the application of ring marks "ringmarking". Optical fibers of new types such as G651 and G655 are being prepared for release. Products are certified in Russia and the quality is confirmed by "Rostelecom" PJSC, Russia's leading cable companies and foreign consumers.

According to the results of certification, optical fiber was approved for use on the networks of the largest Russian Telecom operators Rostelecom, MTS, MegaFon and others.

Manufacturing capacity of the plant is 4 mln kilometers of optical fiber per year.
