The first Russian telecommunication optical fiber manufacturer continues to rump up production volumes and grab new markets. In August of 2017 “Optic Fiber Systems” JSC produced a millionth kilometer of domestic fiber. The monthly output of fiber of G652d and G657A1 standards is more than 100 thousand km now.

Even this volume is not enough to meet the current demand. The number of customers increases every month - the geography of supply includes such countries as Russia, Belarus, China, Austria, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Poland, etc.

Andrey Nikolaev, General Director, “Optic Fiber Systems” JSC: “The market of optical fiber in the world is growing at a rapid rate. In the first half of this year the growth was more than 10% compared to the same period last year. It is expected that fiber consumption in the world will exceed 500 million km for the first time in 2017. In this context “Optic Fiber Systems” JSC continues to develop production and build long-term relations with partners, assesses the options for production modernization to increase the plant's capacity up to 5-10 million km of optical fiber per year”.

INFORMATION: “Optic Fiber Systems” JSC (www.rusfiber.ru) is the first factory in Russia for optical fiber production located in Saransk, Republic of Mordovia. The company's investors are “Gazprombank” JSC, “RUSNANO” JSC, and the Government of the Republic of Mordovia. The plant was opened on September 25th, 2015. This is a modern high-tech enterprise with a capacity of 2.4 million km of optical fiber per year. Taking into account the planned modernization of equipment, the design capacity of the plant will increase to 4.5 million km per year. The main products is the telecommunication optical fiber of G652d and G657A1 standards.
