On September 21, 2018  a master class "Technology of production of telecommunication optical fibers"  was held on the basis of "Optic fiber Systems" JSC within the Youth Science and Education Workshop "Photonics and Power Electronics”

Fundamentally important issues related to main aspects of optical fiber production were touched in the course of the master class, which participants were students, graduate students, young scientists and specialists of high-tech enterprises.

"Optic fiber Systems" JSC employees participated as speakers:

Buralkin M.V. The topic of the report: “The area of quality control, rewind and deuteration. The specifics of the work and the place occupied in the technological chain. "

Kashkin D.S. The topic of the report :“The technological chain of optical fiber production. Draw tower area: main units"

Yashin A.A. The topic of the report is “Protective coatings for optical fibers: overview, types, application. IR Fourier Spectroscopy."

After the master class, the participants had a tour to the production.

The goals of this workshop are:

- to create conditions to form new professional competencies of participants in the field of photonics, fiber optics and power electronics;

- to identify the most relevant and promising studies prepared by young participants of the workshop;

- to stimulate interest of young scientists, graduate students and students to modern problems of physical material physics and high technologies;

- to create conditions for the development of scientific interaction.

"Optic fiber Systems" JSC is always actively involved in research and educational programs for students and young professionals, as stimulating the interest of young researchers to the problems of fiber optics is a priority in the development of optical fiber production.

“Optic fiber Systems” JSC (www.rusfiber.ru) – is the first Russian plant manufacturing optical fiber. The plant is situated in Saransk, Mordovia Republic. It  was officially opened September 25^th,  2015. The shareholders of the company are RUSNANO, Gazprombank, the Government of Mordovia Republic.

Today it is a modern high-tech manufacturing with a capacity of 2,4 million km of optical fiber per year. While based on the scheduled upgrade project the capacity of the plant will be increased to 4 mln kilometers of optical fiber per year.

Currently there are the most popular types of the fiber – optical fibers of G652d and G657A1/G652d standards - are serially produced at the plant. The both types of the fiber are certified and were successfully tested by OJCS Rostelecom. Optical fibers of other types are planned to produce.
